Jewellery Care
Care Tips
To ensure the longevity of your precious piece, we suggest the following preservation measures.
Wearing
Silver jewellery will naturally tarnish overtime. To maintain its shine, we recommend using a silver cleaning cloth to polish it regularly. Additionally, it is important to protect your jewellery at all times. While some minor scratches may occur over time, it is advisable to avoid exposing the jewellery to chemicals, prolonged sunlight, and extreme temperatures, as these factors can minimise the effects of tarnishing.
We recommend removing jewellery when you shower or bathe and particularly when on the beach, in the sea and in chlorinated water.
Avoid spraying perfume or applying creams directly onto your jewellery.
Cleaning
Using a soft cloth is an effective way to keep Silver, Gold and Rose Gold Plated jewellery looking shiny and lustrous. A silver cleaner can also be used to clean sterling silver pieces if tarnished. Do not use paper towels to clean metal as they can cause scratching.
Alternative cleaning method
To clean mild tarnishing and dirt at home, mix mild dish soap with warm water and let your jewellery soak for 15 minutes. Then, use a soft-bristle toothbrush or a lint-free cloth to gently remove any stubborn dirt. Rinse the jewellery thoroughly under warm water and pat it dry with a soft, lint-free cloth. Your jewellery will regain its shine and look brand new.
Storing
Ideally store your jewellery in a dark, cool and dry place, try to keep pieces apart so that they do not rub together or tangle up. Silver jewellery can naturally tarnish when stored over time, so it is a good idea to get it out occasionally and polish with a silver cloth.
Gold Plating
Gold plating is a layer of gold over sterling silver. Avoid wearing your gold plated jewellery in the shower or when swimming. Gold Plating will naturally fade over time.
